As the owners’ circumstances changed, Schindler made alterations & additions. The original depression era duplex program evolved into a single family residence with studio/library/sleeping quarters added above the garage after the war years. Set back on its street to street hillside site, the plan affords a walled courtyard patio which is accessed either from the living room, or sidewalk. All major rooms have remarkable city views.
